๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น vs ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡น โŒ (Semi Finals) ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น vs ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฆโŒ (Bronze Medal Match) โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” A roller coaster of emotions about this tournament. During the lead up I didnโ€™t feel that I was ready. Training was tough, work was hectic and overall I felt that I was doing a poor job of juggling everything. Really grateful for my support system @gentilleq and my family for always being there to listen and encourage me when I doubt myself. โค๏ธ Iโ€™ve been to this tournament 3 times prior and I was always eliminated in the first round. Fast forward to yesterday and I was finally out of the first round and made it all the way to a medal match for the first time at this level. Unfortunately, I wasnโ€™t able to bring it all the way home and I was really disappointed in my final round performance (3 stumbles in one kata ๐Ÿ˜ฃ.) I know that I hit several new highs at this tournament (these have actually been some of my best performances to date) but having the final round end on such a low note is overshadowing everything right now. โ˜น๏ธ Really grateful as always to my team: My coach, Dr Nicole Lambie whoโ€™s been a superstar these last few months and especially at this tournament. @movementmechanics_tt @amanda.johnson_athlettude @camillegallinger @cleiverkarate1 would not be here without you Funny enough, during the first day of the competition I was watching one of the youngest members of our team compete for the first time. Heโ€™d never been a WKF event before. (Iโ€™m not even sure that he realized that heโ€™d gotten a tough draw ๐Ÿ˜…) but he was out there clearly having the time of his life and enjoying every minute of it. We always say to enjoy the moment but something about actually seeing him having a blast finally clicked it into place for me. Iโ€™ve put a lot of work and sacrifice into chasing this dream and thereโ€™ve been a LOT of low moments so itโ€™s easy to get caught up in the negatives. So moving forward, hereโ€™s to not just trusting but also enjoying the process. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ Stay tuned! Osu! #karate #kata #teamtto #dreamchaser

T&T Soca Warriors will commence the final round of 2018 World Cup Concacaf Final Round Qualifiers at home to Costa Rica on November 11 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.

This opening match was determined after the Kenwyne Jones-captained Soca Warriors stuttered in their closing Semi-Final Round encounter, losing 4-0 to the USA at the EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Florida, USA, on Tuesday night.

Following a solid and disciplined display in the first half with at least 200 T&T fans looking on with a rhythm section positioned in the top corner of T&Tโ€™s half of the field at the start, the โ€œSoca Warriorsโ€ dropped their guards and stumbled against a more clinical and organised USA outfit which saw 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic become the youngest player to start for the USA in a World Cup qualifier.

The number ten would go on to be at the heart of the USA team with an impressive performance on the evening.

T&T started without the suspended defender Sheldon Bateau and Cordell Cato was left on the bench after picking up a slight hamstring problem in the 2-2 draw with Guatemala on Friday. Coming into the starting team was Levi Garcia, Aubrey David and Radanfah Abu Bakr.

Joevin Jones had T&Tโ€™s first try on seven minutes with a shot from distance which Tim Horward handled without much pressure.

With the Americans pushing forward, Pulisic almost opened his teamโ€™s account from a Altidore cross, but his left-footed shot from close range hit both posts before bouncing away from danger.

As T&T kept the hosts under control for the majority of the half, they then fell behind after an unfortunate mishap in the box when Khaleem Hylandโ€™s clearance bounced off his own teammate perfectly into the path of Sacha Kljestan and he made no mistake blasting into the goal.

The match began to stretch out as the second half progressed and both teams saw counter-attacking chances go begging.

Altidore put USA 2-0 ahead when he collected from Fabian Johnson before turning and placing the ball past Marvin Phillip who would later make a couple good stops to deny the Americans.

Kenwyne Jones got free in the US area after some nice build-up play from T&T, but his effort from close range went well over an onrushing Howardโ€™s crossbar in the 55th.

Hart put on Jamal Williams and Shahdon Winchester in the second half but T&T could not get on the scoresheet. Joevin Jones tested Howard with a powerful left footer which had the โ€˜keeper stretching full length to push out.

The US pressed for further items as T&T were found opened too often at the back but the result would finish 4-0 to see the US (13 points) top the group ahead of T&T (11 points).

NB: The Hexagonal, a 10-match schedule for each of the participating countries, is played from November 2016 through October 2017. The top three finishers advance directly to the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The fourth-place team will play an intercontinental home-and-away playoff in November 2017, against a team from the Asian Football Confederation.
