The last Sun­day in Jan­u­ary was the T&T In­ter­na­tion­al Marathon (TTIM).

Un­like pre­vi­ous years, the fol­low­ing Mon­day was pain­less. That is sim­ply be­cause, in my fifth marathon in a row, the prepa­ra­tion was much bet­ter. Nat­u­ral­ly, it helped that there was bet­ter sup­port both men­tal­ly and phys­i­cal­ly this time around, un­like pre­vi­ous ef­forts.

As 2019 gears up, there is so much to look forward to in the sport for development space as we reflect on some of the highlights in 2018. In October, The United Nations Human Rights (UNHR) Social Forum in Geneva initiated discussions that have set the tone for sport for development for 2019.

Chris Den­nis took home the award for "Surfer of the Year" at the Surf­ing As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T prize giv­ing cer­e­mo­ny for T&T ath­letes who com­pet­ed on the lo­cal cir­cuit last year.

The T&T In­ter­na­tion­al Marathon (TTIM) is on Sun­day. It's num­ber 37. Founder of the T&T marathon, Raf­fique Shah is cred­it­ed as start­ing the lo­cal edi­tion of the en­durance event in 1983. Then known as the Mir­ror Marathon, the 26.2-mile run cap­tured the imag­i­na­tion of the na­tion back then and for many decades af­ter.
