The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) will join the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) once an agreement is reached following a meeting in Madrid, Spain on the 7th April 2016. The TTOC represented by its President, Brian Lewis will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Centre for Sport Security Europe (ICSS Europe).

In his Easter message to the nation, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley called on the citizens to put country before self and be prepared to make sacrifices and commit to work together in the spirit of co-operation and conciliation, rising above individualism and partisan interests. He made the point that what the citizens of the twin Island Republic should aim for is safe communities, a commitment to root out crime and criminality and an economically strong T&T.

I have been reading ad nauseam in the press about the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee's (TTOC's) patriotic attempt to increase the number of gold medals won by our country from two to ten by 2024. It is difficult to keep up with all the stories in the press but I must have missed the one dealing with the issue of how this was going to be achieved. Finally, the internet led me to a story in one of the dailies.

Architect Dame Zaha Hadid, whose designs include the London Olympic Aquatic Centre, has died aged 65. Iraqi-born, this year she was the first woman to receive the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) Gold Medal in recognition of her work.
