The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) is set to join with National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from across the Caribbean in celebration of the first ever CANOC Week.

The week of activities, organized under the umbrella body, the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) will run from March 4th to 10th 2018. The Trinidad and Tobago  theme for this inaugural year is “Celebrating Women” as the week coincides with International Women’s Day on March 8th.

The TTOC activities get going on Sunday March 4th with a special seminar for female athletes entitled “Why Fit In When You Were Born to Stand Out”. The aim of the seminar will be to empower young women between the ages 15 - 20 years through the shared lessons and experiences of local female entrepreneurs.

On Thursday 8th March the 3rd Annual TTOC Sport IndustryTT Conference will be held at Hyatt Regency Hotel . The day after on Friday 9th March at the Bptt box at the Queens Park Oval the TTOC will stage an athlete sponsorship and brand building workshop .

The week will conclude on Saturday March 10th as the TTOC joins a coalition of women’s NGOs and the Institute of Gender and Development Studies for their Annual Solidarity Walk. The Walk begins at 3:30pm at the Queens Park Savannah.

CANOC Week has been conceptualized as a region-wide activity, and is expected to showcase solidarity among member-NOCs while raising awareness about the body in the Caribbean.
