Jamaica set a new world record of 37.10 seconds in the Men's 4 x 100m Relay to win the gold medal.

Trinidad and Tobago captured silver, while Japan took the bronze.
Following the elimination of USA and  reigning champions Great Britain tonights final was billed as the Battle of the Caribbean and both Jamaica and T&T did not disappoint.
Jamaica with the inclusion of Usain Bolt won by a comfortable margin as they erased the previous world record set by the USA of 37.40 secs.
Trinidad and Tobago brought in Emmanuel Callender in place of Aaron Armstrong on the third leg.Keston Bledman started and handed over to Marc Burns.Richard Thompson ran the anchor .
The exchange between Callender and Thompson was not as smooth as it could have been but Thompson ,the 100m silver medalist showed his class to run pass Japan and Brazil to ensure the silver medal .
