The International Olympic Committee has today (Friday) put forward eight names for election as IOC members, with International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) president Sebastian Coe and Fifa counterpart Gianni Infantino not named.

Baseball and softball, karate, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing have all been recommended for inclusion at Tokyo 2020 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board here today.

Bids from baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, sports climbing and surfing to join the programme for the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo cleared another hurdle yesterday (Wednesday) when the International Olympic Committee executive board voted in favour of their inclusion.
